PATHS
The right solution depends on how the house is used.

We do not treat every project in this category as the same job. Scope, disruption, budget, and long-term value change depending on which path fits the house and your actual goals.

Smaller roof loads

5-inch systems

Used where roof size, water volume, and visual scale still make a smaller system reasonable.

Best for modest roof sectionsCleaner profile on smaller homesNot ideal where runoff volume is high
Recommended default

6-inch systems

Our usual recommendation because it handles more water, more debris, and more Maine weather variation with less overflow risk.

Handles substantially more runoffBetter match for steeper and larger roofsPreferred for long-term performance
Reduced maintenance

Guarded / specialty systems

Best where tree cover, access difficulty, or maintenance avoidance are part of the decision.

Good for pine-heavy or tall homesHelps reduce seasonal cleanoutsWorks best when the whole water path is sized correctly
SCOPE
WHAT'S INCLUDING IN EVERY JOB

Every line item below is in the contract. No surprises, no "we'll figure it out on-site." If we do the work, these are part of the price.

01

Tear-off

Remove old gutters, downspouts, and fascia damage repair at cost.

02

Fascia board

Inspect; replace rotted sections before hanging.

03

Gutter run

Seamless aluminum, rolled on-site, cut to length.

04

Hangers

Hidden-hanger system with screws, every 24".

05

End caps + corners

Crimped and sealed, not riveted.

06

Downspouts

3x4" on 6" gutters, 2x3" on 5", strap every 8 ft.

07

Splash blocks

Concrete or rubber at discharge points.

08

Cleanup

All debris hauled, magnet sweep for screws.

EARLY WARNING
Signs your roof is already telling on itself.

CATCH IT EARLY AND THIS IS A
ROOFING JOB.
WAIT TOO LONG AND IT BECOMES
ROOFING + DECKING + INSULATION +
CEILING.

01

Overflow at valleys

Often means the gutter size, pitch, or downspout capacity is wrong for the roof section.

02

Sagging runs

Usually a fastening pattern or fascia problem, not just an old gutter problem.

03

Water at foundation corners

Drainage path and discharge points may be failing even if the gutters still look intact.

04

Rotten fascia edges

The water issue may have already moved into the trim and roof edge assembly.

Luxury / historic

Copper

16-oz copper, soldered corners, will develop patina. 75+ year life.

Guard system

LeafFilter

Stainless micro-mesh over a pitched frame. Transferable lifetime warranty.

PROCESS
How the job runs, start to finish.
01

Questions
Things people actually ask.

More questions? Call +1 (203) 725-5058 or request an estimate — we don't believe in pressure sales.

5" or 6" gutters?
6" handles roughly 40% more water and is what we recommend for most Maine roofs. 5" only if the roof is small or the look matters (6" is noticeably bigger).
Do gutter guards actually work?
Guard systems such as LeafFilter are designed to reduce debris buildup and seasonal cleanouts while maintaining water flow when the entire drainage path is properly sized.
What colors are available?
32 standard colors are available, and custom RAL colors can also be ordered.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Cleaning frequency depends on surrounding tree cover and debris load. Guard systems can help reduce the need for regular cleanouts.
